ERC Announce Semi-Final Lineup

Munster will have to travel to play the winners of Stade Francais and Newcastle should they manage to progress to the semi-final of the Heineken Cup. Leinster however have recieved a home semi-final draw, with the winner of their match scheduled to play the winners of Toulouse and Northampton.

Heineken Cup Quarter Final Update

Today the ERC finalised the days and times of the quarter finals of this year’s Heineken Cup. Munster will face Biarittz on Sunday April 3rd at 4:00pm while Leinster will be playing host to Leicester at 5:15pm on Saturday April 2nd.

Both Irish sides left in the Heineken Cup will be up against it when they play two of the strongest teams in the competition in April, Biarittz and Leicester. Leinster have been ‘rewarded’ by being top seeds with a match against the eight seed, Leicester. Meanwhile Munster will have to travel to Biarittz, a venue where both Leicester and Wasps have already lost at this season.

Munster have booked their place in the knock-out stages of the Heineken Cup yet again. Munster saw off the challenge of a spirited Harlequins side to win the match by 18 points to 10.

Munster have finalised their squad of 22 ahead of tomorrow’s Heineken Cup clash with Harlequins at Twickenham. The only change is the return of Rob Henderson as was expected. Mossie Lawlor move to the bench to accomodate Henderson’s return.

Munster have recieved a boost ahead of thier final Pool game against Harlequins on Saturday with the news that Rob Henderson has recovered from the injury that saw him miss out last Saturday.

Munster retained their impressive Thomond Park record when they saw off the challenge of The Ospreys in their final Heineken Cup home game this season. Munster thanks to two tries just before half time won by 20 points to 10.

Munster’s injury problems have increased ahead of tomorrow’s Heineken Cup clash with The Ospreys. Rob Henderson has been ruled out following a knock he recieved in last Saturday’s match against Leinster.

With tickets sales now up to 24,000, NEC Harlequins Heineken Cup pool four game against Munster at Twickenham on Saturday 15th January, kick-off 1.00pm, will enter the record books for attracting the biggest attendance to a pool match in the tournaments history.

Munster Name Squad

Munster coach Alan Gaffney has named a 25 man squad for his side’s penultimate pool game against Neath-Swansea Ospreys on Saturday. Gaffney has been hit with the injury to Ronan O’Gara that has ruled him out of the remainer of the Heineken Cup Pool games, but Gaffney’s decision to sign Paul Burke during the summer seems to have been a good one.
