Connacht have progressed to the quarter finals of the European Challenge Cup following their four point defeat to Montpellier yesterday. Although Connacht lost the second leg, their huge margin of victory from the first leg saw them through on aggregate.

Connacht look certain to go into the third round of the European Challenge Cup following their huge 56 points to 3 win over Montpellier in Galway with fly-half Paul Warwick bagging 26 points in another impressive display.

Connacht coach Michael Bradley has named his side ahead of Connacht’s European Challenge Cup clash with Montpellier on Saturday. Connacht will be looking to rack up the points ahead of the return leg the following week.

Connacht claimed a Welsh scalp for the second week in a row, when they saw off the challenge of Newport-Gwent Dragons at the Sportsground in Galway. The Dragons who are placed fourth in the league couldn’t cope with the spirited display from Connacht and despite threatening to win at the death went down by 19 points to 14.

Connacht shocked League leaders The Ospreys this evening when they travelled to Wales and against all the odds picked up a hard fought victory. It was only the Ospreys second loss of the season and was their first at home.

Leinster have continued their impressive form with their eight win in a row, having seen off the challenge posed by Connacht by 18 points to 9. Second half tries from Niall Ronan and Felipe Contepomi gave Leinster the victory.

Connacht beat Narbonne in Galway today and more importantly beat them by a large enough margin to go through to the next round of the Parker Pen Challenge Cup.
