Good Night For Irish Sides

Last night was a good night for the Irish sides in action in the Celtic League with both Connacht and Ulster seeing off their opposition. Ulster destroyed Glasgow by 30 points to 3 in Ravenhill while an Eric Elwood penalty was the difference between Connacht and their opposition Edinburgh.

Five Changes For Munster

Munster coach Alan Gaffney has shifted the focus away from his future and back to the rugby by naming his side for the trip to Cardiff in the Celtic League on Saturday.

McCall Names Side For Glasgow Match

Mark McCall has named his Ulster side to face Glasgow on Friday night in the Celtic League. Ulster will be deperate to win and put some daylight between themselves and Connacht in the race for the third Heineken Cup qualifier spot for Ireland.

Gaffney To Leave Munster

Alan Gaffney had put an end to the rumours circulating about his future with the province by confirming that he will not be seeking to extend his contract when it expires at the end of this season. Gaffney joined the province 3 years ago when Declan Kidney departed for the Irish set-up and since then has been highly regarded.

Horgan To Miss France Match

Shane Horgan has been ruled out of Ireland’s next Six Nations match against France on Saturday week. Horgan managed to finish the game against England last Sunday but scans on his hand have revealed that he has sustained a minor fracture to the base of his thumb. The injury may also rule him out of the final game against Wales but that has yet to be decided.
