Major Blow To Munster’s Celtic League Challenge

Munster’s attempt to be the first side to win the Celtic League twice took a major blow last night when they lost their second away match in succession against Cardiff Blues. The Blues ran out comfortable 33 points to 20 winners.

Munster have never had a great record away in Cardiff in the League and last night was much of the same. There were few highlights for Munster fans and some major setbacks. Full-back Christian Cullen suffered a shoulder injury and initial reports say that this injury could force him out of Munster’s Heineken Cup quarter-final with Biarittz.

Should the Ospreys win today at Leinster they will go at least 12 points clear of Munster at the top of the league. That will give them a lead that will be almost impossible to lose with the few remaining games.
