Heineken and ERC, the Heineken Cup tournament organisers, have announced that Heineken will continue as title sponsor of the Heineken Cup club rugby tournament for another four years - through to the 14th final of the tournament in 2009.

The partnership between Heineken and ERC was first forged when European club rugby’s elite competition was launched in 1995 and has developed into one of the longest running and most successful alliances in the professional game.


Heineken were rumoured to be quitting their sponsorship with FIAT rumoured to be replacing them as sponsors.
