Three Changes For Connacht

Connacht have made three changes to their side for Saturday’s Celtic League clash with Cardiff at the Sportsground. There is one change in the backs and two in the forwards from last weekend, for this crunch tie as far as Heineken Cup qualification is concerned.

With an extra Heineken Cup spot up for contention in the Celtic League this year Connacht will be looking to get a win against Cardiff who look like being their main rivals for the chance to get to the play-off for this Heineken Cup spot.

In the pack Stephen Knoop returns from injury to start at tight head in place of Peter Bracken and John O’Sullivan comes into the side at number eight, with John Muldoon switching to blindside flanker and Michael Swift moving to the bench.

On the bench, Dan McFarland returns from injury as does Mark McHugh. Connacht have lost their last three meetings with the Blues and will be determined to stop that run of defeats this weekend.

Connacht (V Cardiff): Matt Mostyn; Conor McPhillips, Darren Yapp, James Downey, Ted Robinson; Paul Warwick, Chris Keane; Raymond Hogan, Bernard Jackman, Stephen Knoop, Christian Short, Andrew Farley, John Muldoon, Matt Lacey, John O’Sullivan.

Replacement: Dan McFarland, John Fogarty, Pieter Myburgh, Michael Swift, Tom Tierney, David Slemen, Mark McHugh.
