O’Gara Snatches Victory At The Death
A late, late drop goal from Ronan O’Gara gave Ireland the victory in an extremely hard fought encounter with Argentina at Landsdowne Road. O’Gara’s drop goal seconds from the end, put Ireland into a lead for the first time in the match, and cruely denied the Argentinians a victory many would think they deserved.
O’Gara’s opposite number and Leinster out-half, Felipe Contepomi was outstanding for The Pumas, taking all of his sides 19 points, including an early try. However in dreadful conditions Ireland were able to keep in touch with the Argentinans and in the end O’Gara’s drop goal gave them a 21 points to 19 victory.
Ireland were poor, with many unforced errors. The Argentinians lived up to their ferocious reputation and didn’t give an inch in the tight game. All in all, Ireland will be happy with the Autumn Test Series having won all three matches - the only Six Nations side to do so.

Frankly I think we were bloody lucky to win that match - I don’t think a single back actually had a good game.
Thank God for ROG.
