Lacklustre Ireland Dispatch USA

In a dark and dreary conditions in Landsdowne Road this afternoon, Ireland’s second string team, saw off the US with a 55 points to 6 victory over the visitors. Ireland were very poor especially in the first half, which they only won by 13 points to 6. The US managed to keep them in touch until Ireland began to pull away in the second half.

There were some pluses in the match, such as the good debut performances of Ulster’s Tommy Bowe and Munster’s Denis Leamy. Besides that it’s a match best forgotten and Ireland will move on to the challenge of Argentina who will be on a high following their victory over France.
