Ulster Sign Tamarua
Ulster today confirmed that they have signed former Harlequins flanker Tu Tamarua. Tamarua, who represented Australia at schoolboy level, has played for clubs in England, Wales and New Zealand. He could make his debut as early as Saturday against Munster at Ravenhill.
Ulster have been ravaged by injuries to their back-row of late and no doubt Tamarua will bolster the back-row for the Celtic League games. However Tamarua will not be available for the pool stages of the Heineken Cup.
Meanwhile, Paddy Wallace will miss the Celtic League game against Munster because of an ankle injury, so, with Humphreys on Ireland duty, Adam Larkin will likely start as fly-half against Munster
Update 2-11-2004 13:27 GMT: It now appears that the Tamarua deal is off due to the player failing the Ulster medical.
