Last night Leinster retook second place in the Celtic League following their victory over Edinburgh at Donnybrook. The Leinster win was due in the main part to the efforts of Denis Hickie, who picked up two tries after coming on in the second half.

Ulster’s woes continued last night with their third successive loss at Ravenhill, a ground where until recently they looked invincible. Ulster never looked like they were going to win the match but did manage to lead after a scrappy first half with h David Humphreys notching two penalties for the first side and Ceri Sweeney hitting the Dragons score.
Ulster flanker Neil McMillan is out for the rest of the season and will undergo reconstruction to his knee. McMillan had a second exploratory operation on his left knee on Wednesday and it was found that he had torn his anterior cruciate ligament.
