Weekend’s Euro Action Round-Up

The Irish sides got off to a sucessful start in the first round of the Heineken Cup, with Leinster, Munster and Ulster all winning their initial matches. Leinster and Munster may have been expecting easier matches and both sides were looking for the bonus point, but in the end both sides will have been satisfied with the win.

Ulster fans will be delighted to have got a win under their belt following the poor form they’ve shown this season thus-far. In the Parker Pen Challenge Cup, Connacht travelled to France to take on Narbonne in the first leg of the first round. They lost by a margin of 14 points which means that next weekend in Galway Connacht will have to win by more than 14 points to go through to the next round.

Can’t say I was too impressed with any of the teams I saw this week. I fancied Munster and Toulouse for the trophy but both didn’t exactly set the world on fire with their performances.
