Leinster coach Declan Kidney has named his side for Leinster’s opening game of the 2004/2005 Heineken Cup campaign against Treviso on Saturday. Kidney has decided to choose Brian O’Meara at scrum half over Irish International Guy Easterby.



Emmet Byrne has seen off the challenge of Ricky Nebbett at tight head, while in the backs Gary Brown and Felipe Contepomi drop to the substitutes with Shane Horgan and Gordon D’Arcy starting.



Kidney has one injury worry, that of Eric Miller who is provisionally named on the substitutes but should he fail to prove his fitness Des Dillon will come in to the side in his place.

Leinster (v Treviso): G Dempsey; S Horgan, B O’Driscoll, G D’Arcy, D Hickie; D Holwell, B O’Meara; R Corrigan (Capt), S Byrne, E Byrne, L Cullen, M O’Kelly, A McCullen, S Jennings, V Costello.



Replacements: R Nebbett, G Hickie, B Gissing, E Miller / D Dillon, G Easterby, F Contepomi, G Brown.
