Injury Time Win For Munster
With Munster only two weeks away from their first game of the Heineken Cup, they were looking for a good win at Glasgow. They got the win but it’s very doubtful that coach Alan Gaffney wanted it to be this close.
Munster looked impressive at times, with a very strong team. The back three of Cullen, Payne and Horgan in particular looked very dangerous and with Cullen scoring two and Horgan scoring one, made most of Munster’s tries.
With the match approaching injury time Munster had a slim lead of 25 points to 23. O’Gara hadn’t been having the greatest game and had missed the majority of his kicks at goal. In injury time Munster conceded a penalty with Dan Parks slotted over with seemed to seal Munster’s fate, but from the restart, Munster regained posession, and O’Gara became the hero when he scored a long drop goal to win the match.
