Connacht Impress against Llanelli

Last season Connacht stunned Llanelli when they travelled to Stradley Park, becoming the only team to win there in the Celtic League last season, but no-one thought lightening would strike twice, but that’s what did happen when an impressive Connacht stunned Llanelli with a well deserved 29 points to 21 victory.

Connacht looked impressive throughout the game and after an initial bad spell where they conceded 10 points, they began to play and were hugely impressive. In the end they had scored four tries, claiming a bonus point for themselves and the margin of victory even denied Llanelli a losing bonus point.

Connacht now sit third in the Celtic League, a very impressive position for a province that has been written off more times than I can remember. It’s worth noting what Tom English has to say today about the poor attendences at the Connacht home games. English contends that Connacht are barely viable with the current attendances, and wonders where all the ‘Friends Of Connacht’, who campaigned against the dissolution of the province, have gone.
