Leinster have completed the signing of out-half David Holwell just days ahead of the Heineken Cup deadline. We intially reported on the signing earlier in the month, but it now appears the deal is close to completion with Holwell having to complete a medical before joining the squad proper.


Holwell will definitely add options for Declan Kidney due to the fact that he’s been playing Brian O’Meara at out-half which isn’t his chosen position thus far in the Celtic League.


In other Leinster news, Gavin Hickie has been named as the final replacement on the Leinster side to face Newport-Gwent Dragons on Friday
