Munster Lose To Edinburgh
Edinburgh got their very first Celtic League victory since February at the expense of Munster tonight at Musgrave Park.
Munster started well with an early try from Shaun Payne after eight minutes, but Edinburgh soon found their form and their pack was clearly stronger than the Munster pack and they were able to maul over the line to score soon after. Edinburgh soon scored again to enjoy a 13-5 lead at the interval.
Soon after the break Munster started playing with far more conviction and managed to get a penalty, but indisipline by David Pusey close to Munster’s line gave Edinburgh a penalty, which ultimately gave them the position to score again, giving them a 20-8 lead. Munster didn’t give up however and two penalties brought the home side to within three points with 19 minutes left. Edinburgh scored a penalty to stretch their lead again, and in the dying minutes with Munster trying desperately to record a win, Munster scrum half Eoin Reddan gave away the ball to give Edinburgh a very soft try leaving the final score Munster 17, Edinburgh 28.
