Bad Night for the Irish
Ireland’s teams competing in the Celtic League tonight experienced mixed fortunes. Celtic League leaders Ulster lost unexpectedly to bottom club Glasgow. Ulster had appeared to be on course to consolidate their position as leaders of the Celtic League but just before half time Glasgow started a revival that resulted in a 27 points to 25 victory for the Scots.
Munster who were looking for a victory against Llanelli to move up in the league will be disappointed that Llanelli Scarlets stopped their recent Celtic League revival with a 37 points to 20 victory. This result leaves Munster in 5th place, now trailing Celtic Warriors by 4 points.
Munster will now feel the pressure, with Celtic Warriors having overtaken them in the League, following their victory against Leinster in Dublin. Neil Jenkin’s boot saw that Warriors ended up winning comfortably by 37 points to 16. Jenkin’s now has a 100% record that extends all the way back to October. Leinster’s Felipe Contepomi proved an important asset to the side, soring all of Leinster’s 16 points.
