Management Changes All Round
As expected Ulster coach Alan Solomons departure from the province to coach Northampton has been confirmed. Solomons said that the “enjoyed every minute” in Ulster and that he was leaving with “a heavy heart”. Solomons also backed Ulster assistant coach Mark McCall as his replacement.
At the international level trouble seems a foot, with Irish assistant coach saying he was disappointed at not being offered a renewal of his contract. Kidney has been offered the new position of “Performance Manager - Age Grade Rugby” but the IRFU but has not said whether he will take it. With Eddie O’Sullivan saying he has no intention to fill the position of assistant coach when Kidney certainly backs up the belief that O’Sullivan and Kidney did not see eye-to-eye.
